A new iOS app called Reelful is automating the content creation process by transforming raw camera roll photos and video clips into polished, professional-grade videos for TikTok and Instagram. Designed for creators overwhelmed by the complexity of traditional editing software, the app uses generative AI to handle everything from scripting to final production.
The Shift Toward Agentic Video Editing
Reelful is part of a broader industry transition where AI agents replace manual creative tools to streamline workflows. By automating the selection of clips, sound design, and voiceovers, the app joins a competitive landscape of AI-driven platforms like Opus Clip and Captions, all aiming to reduce the friction of short-form video production.
Founded by Snapchat Alum
Currently participating in a16z’s Speedrun program, Reelful was founded by Kate Deyneka, a former machine learning engineer at Snapchat who previously specialized in image and video modeling. Deyneka developed the app specifically to eliminate the time-consuming tasks of manual editing, which she identifies as a major barrier for busy founders and professionals.
“I want to post more on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, but video editing takes a lot of time,” Deyneka explained in an interview. “I see Reelful as a tool that can help people build their online presence and their personal brand.”
How the AI Workflow Functions
To use Reelful, users simply provide a prompt describing the narrative—such as a product demo, travel recap, or event highlight—and upload media from their camera roll. After recording a 30-second sample to create a voice clone, the app takes over: it plans the video, writes the script, generates an AI voiceover, and adds music, captions, and sound effects.

The app also features generative animation capabilities. If a user uploads a static image, Reelful can animate the content—such as turning a photo of someone slicing fruit into a short video clip. All AI-generated content includes a watermark to ensure transparency.
Post-Generation Editing
The process doesn’t end with the first draft. Users can refine the output by chatting with the app, requesting changes to the soundtrack, script, or other visual elements. Deyneka emphasizes that the goal is to make sharing content effortless, allowing users to upload footage while on the go and have a finished video ready by the time they reach their destination.
Pricing and Availability
Reelful offers flexible pricing for different user needs. One-time bundles are available at $15 for five videos, $43 for 15, or $90 for 33. Subscription tiers include a “Creator” plan at $25/month for 10 videos, a “Pro” plan at $50/month for 25 videos, and a “Studio” plan at $100/month for 60 videos. While currently exclusive to iOS, the team plans to expand to Android and web platforms in the future.
