Apple has unveiled a comprehensive suite of updates for iOS 27, significantly enhancing the Wallet experience, Apple Pay functionality, and service integrations across Music, Podcasts, and iCloud. These updates, currently available for developer testing, aim to streamline daily digital interactions, from managing loyalty cards to professional-grade audio streaming and collaborative photo sharing.
Apple Wallet Evolves
Wallet is gaining robust support for digitizing physical membership and loyalty cards. Users can now simply point their iPhone camera at a barcode or scan a digital card to save it directly into the app. This feature extends to Apple Watch, where passes can be pinned to the Smart Stack for instant access.

Travelers are also set to benefit from a revamped hotel key experience. Beyond unlocking rooms and amenities via iPhone or Apple Watch, guests at participating locations can access trip itineraries, activity schedules, service details, and real-time updates directly within the Wallet interface.
Apple Pay
Apple Pay is receiving a redesigned checkout interface for both web and app environments. Users can now toggle between payment cards more efficiently while viewing critical data such as rewards balances, debit account totals, and available pay-later options. Additionally, Apple confirmed that users will soon be able to add funds directly to eligible debit cards within Wallet or during the checkout flow.
For merchants, Apple is expanding “Tap to Pay” on iPhone with a new “Tap to Share” feature. This allows customers to securely transmit loyalty account information, shipping addresses, and contact details to participating merchants with a single tap.
Apple Music

Apple Music is bolstering its global appeal by adding seven new language pairings to “Lyrics Translation,” including English translations for French, German, Italian, Korean, Spanish, and Japanese tracks. Furthermore, “Lyrics Pronunciation” now supports five new language pairings to assist users in singing along to foreign-language songs.
The “AutoMix” feature, which ensures seamless transitions between tracks, is being expanded to Apple TV and HomePod. Additionally, Apple Music subscribers can now access Hi-Res Lossless Audio on Apple TV 4K, bringing studio-quality sound to home entertainment systems via tvOS.
Apple Podcasts
Podcast listeners gain a new “search within show” tool, enabling users to find specific content across episodes on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Vision Pro, and the web. Reflecting the rise of video-first media, Apple is also introducing support for video podcasts on both Mac and Apple TV.
iCloud Shared Albums

iCloud Shared Albums are receiving significant updates, including full-resolution photo sharing, support for additional file types, and interactive emoji reactions. Users will benefit from improved activity feeds and per-album activity tracking. New temporary albums are also being introduced for short-term projects, allowing groups to collaborate without consuming permanent iCloud storage. Notably, individuals without Apple devices can now contribute photos via the web.
Fitness+
Fitness+ is launching “Strong Through Menopause,” a three-week program featuring guided Yoga and Strength workouts tailored to perimenopause and menopause. The program focuses on building strength, improving mobility, and managing stress. Additionally, a new “Time to Walk” episode featuring Busy Philipps explores personal narratives surrounding perimenopause.
These features are currently available in the Apple Developer Program, with a public beta scheduled for release next month.
